W. A. Mozart (1756-1791)
Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, KV.525
Allegro
Romanze
Menuetto
Rondo
This famous serenade was
written in 1787, at the same time as the second act of "Don
Giovanni". It’s interesting to note that at first it
contained 5 movements. The second part, which contains a trio and
a minuet existed. At the present time it is lost. The second part
was written after the death Mozart’s father. The following words
that Mozart had written to his father before his death:
"Death is the last goal of our life. Its image brings peace
and comfort and is the key to our happiness", seem to be
reflected particularly in the second movement of this work.
